For those interested, it is a pleasure to announce that Perl5.002 is
now available for anonymous ftp from gargoyle.osnet.mcs.kent.edu;
which is located within the Mathematics and Computer Science Department at
Kent State University, Kent, Ohio, USA, and not in England as someone said.
This version of Perl5 passed 100% of the tests. It was built with
a custom libc and a semi-modified gcc-2.7.2, which allowed Perl5 to
include several POSIX and ANSI-C extensions not otherwise available.
It is packaged up in binary form, ready to be installed under the
/usr/local prefix, as /pub/gnu/perl5.002.tar.gz. One can also find
additional GNU software packaged up under /pub/gnu/.

Enjoy,
--Craig

We have done so much, with so little, for so long that we are now qualified to
